Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of 4-H Youth Development with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is currently accepting applications for a Secretary II position.


This position provides secretarial support for 4-H Youth Development staff on the Stakeholders and Partnerships team. This Secretary II is the first customer relations contact for communications with 4-H Youth Development. Additional duties of this position will include responding to registration/event questions by multilingual costumers; website and publication support; reimbursement processing and financial support; maintain databases and mailing lists; maintain/order office supplies; space, parking pass and materials allocation; and provide support for various state events.


The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to work independently; maintain confidentiality; and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Required Qualifications

1. Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment and includes the use of word processing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with database programs;


Experience with webpage editing;


Experience with email communications;


Experience in a clerical office setting;


Experience in writing and proofreading;


Fluency in written and verbal Spanish.
