Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of program assistant II. The Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation (CALT) was created in 2006 and provides timely, critically objective information to producers, professionals, and agribusinesses concerning the application of important developments in agricultural law and taxation (federal and state legal opinions of relevance, as well as critical legislative developments), and is a primary source of professional educational training in agricultural law and taxation.

This position is responsible for coordinating center events and activities; implementing CALT marketing campaigns (print and online); and assisting with website planning and updates. Additionally, this position researches continuing education requirements for multiple states and the IRS; ensures compliance with provider requirements; and maintains proper records. The position also creates and implements financial processes for all registration systems, and processes accounts receivables and purchase orders.

The successful candidate will have problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and with a team, as well as attention to detail. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with CALT stakeholders, both internal and external to the University, will also be needed to be successful in this position.
